Full Professor of Portuguese Language at UFF and Visiting Professor at UERJ. PhD from UFRJ, with post-doctorate at Universidade Aberta – Lisbon. Researcher 1 of CNPq, Scientist of Our State by Faperj and collaborating researcher, in Portugal, at the Foundation for Science and Technology. Leader of the Discourse & Grammar Study Group – UFF. Former president of Abralin and member of its Board of Directors. His intellectual production includes studies on Portuguese morphosyntax (variability and change), from the perspective of the grammar of constructions.

PhD in Linguistics (2013) from the Federal University of Paraíba and professor at the undergraduate and graduate level at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco/Campus de Serra Talhada. As a researcher, he coordinates the Pernambuco Linguistic Documentation and Editing Laboratory (LeDoc) and the project For the History of Brazilian Portuguese in Pernambuco (PHPB). He is a member of the research groups certified by the CNPq Tradições Discurtivas do Ceará (TRADICE-UFC), the Functional Investigation Group (GIF-UFPB) and leader of the Study Group on Language in Use (ELU-UFRPE). He was president of the Northeast Linguistic and Literary Studies Group (GELNE) in the 2016-2018 biennium and is currently an advisor to the Brazilian Linguistics Association (ABRALIN) and the Northeast Linguistic and Literary Studies Group (GELNE). In cooperation with the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon, he is part of the International Scientific Committee of the Pombalia: Pombal Global project, of which he is coordinator in Pernambuco.
